What is Reliability Centred Maintenance, RCM?

Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) is a continuous improvement framework for defining and optimising the maintenance requirements for physical assets.

RCM is defined as “a process used to determine what must be done to ensure that any physical asset continues to do what its users want it to do in its present operating context…”, SAE JA1011 standard for RCM.

The Aladon Network RCM2 methodology is the world’s leading RCM methodology.  Aladon and its network members were the first to pioneer the use of RCM in non-aviation industry applications.  The Aladon Network was founded by John Moubray author of the ground breaking book "Reliability-Centred Maintenance".
